An unmatched next-generation protection
The VORONOÏ is an equestrian helmet that concentrates the ultimate in next-generation protection, combining high-quality thermoplastic polymer, in-molding technology, and temporal protection.
It is designed with four layers and equipped with temporal protection for uncompromising safety:
- Comfortable inner lining tailored to each rider’s head size.
- EPS inner shell for shock absorption.
- In-molding technology with a polycarbonate sheet directly molded onto the EPS shell.
- High-quality thermoplastic polymer outer shell.
- Temporal protection: the VORONOÏ is the first equestrian helmet with removable temporal protection, reducing the risk of concussion on the most fragile part of the skull.
Safety first
The development of the first equestrian helmet to better protect the temporal zone stems from a fact: every year in France, over 150,000 cranial traumas require emergency treatment, about a quarter caused by sports or leisure accidents. These traumas result from the brain’s fragility and the thinness of the skull. The temporal zone accounts for 80% of serious brain injuries.
Temporal protection reduces the risk of concussion in the most fragile part of the skull. Behind the temporal bone lies the meningeal artery; even minor trauma can damage this artery, forming a hematoma that compresses brain cells, causing serious consequences or death. The VORONOÏ helmet is the only one that addresses the temporal zone, absorbing and distributing shock over a large surface to reduce risk.
Tested since the WG11 (Work Group 11) studies, rotational impact protection is fully ensured without additional artifices, whose supposed advantages have never been proven by independent laboratories, including the Virginia Tech Lab.
Safety, comfort, and lightness
The VORONOÏ’s internal shell is made of EPS foam (expanded polystyrene), one of the most shock-absorbent on the market. An integrated rib (between the upper shell and lower temporal part) reinforces the structure and provides crush resistance far above standards.
FREEJUMP drew inspiration from cycling and skiing helmets by integrating a polycarbonate sheet directly over the EPS. This in-molding technology, combined with the high-quality thermoplastic ABS outer shell, delivers exceptional impact resistance through this three-layer construction.
The inner lining is made from high-quality Italian fabric to maximize comfort, breathability, and head support. It is removable and washable (wash at 30°C, air dry) for hygiene and comfort.
The VORONOÏ helmet is extremely lightweight for unmatched long-term comfort: +/- 500g without the lower temporal protection, with lining and long visor; +/- 600g with the lower temporal protection.
Design and ventilation
Inspired by the distinctive geometric pattern that gives the helmet its name, the two vents (front and rear on the outer shell) optimize airflow for exceptional thermal regulation. The Voronoï pattern, with its irregular geometric cells, creates a unique, captivating aesthetic reminiscent of dragonfly wings. Each Voronoï cell is carefully positioned to maximize resistance and airflow through the helmet, optimizing safety, ventilation, and breathability.
The VORONOÏ internal shell includes 20 vents for maximum ventilation.
The inner lining is equipped at the front with an ABS half-moon (clipped to the front edge of the inner shell) with two openings directing airflow as it enters the helmet.
Customization, style, and size range
The VORONOÏ is available with or without temporal protection; the latter is removable and replaceable. Choosing the full configuration (with temporal protection) is recommended for safety reasons and to connect the FREEJUMP INTERCOM by Cardo. Temporal protection can be added later if needed.
The VORONOÏ is available in three shell sizes (S, M, L) and two colors: black gloss and black matte.
The inner liner is available in a wide range of sizes from 52cm to 62cm.
